What exactly will you do?

  • Get involved in shaping the technology behind products and the data lake of our client. Your expertise will expand into Data Applications, Data Lake, Data Processing, Data Analytics domains
  • Advise leadership on their data strategy, including database design and architecture
  • Take responsibility for data engineering and automation implementation for your solutions, including data extraction from different client systems of our customer, integrating, consolidating and cleansing data, that will feed ultimately our customer’s analytics platforms used by Data Scientists and analytics solutions
  • Build internal team assets/tools and deploy these tools in infrastructure by collaborating with the product managers, solution leaders, developers and technical operations firm members
  • Continuously learn new cutting-edge technologies and solve complex data processing problems
  • Help in bringing latest Microsoft Azure Data Analytics tools/platforms
  • Be an active learner, identifying new or better ways to deliver impact with people and technology
  • Develop a growth mindset and relish opportunities to use familiar and unfamiliar technologies, closed-source and open-source software, and develop better approaches to solving business and technical challenges
  • Embrace agile software development practices and contribute to growing and improving the engineering organization of our client
  • Prototype code and participate in code reviews, facilitate breaking down user stories into technical tasks, and help manage the code process which is delivered and its quality
  • Lead the adoption of technical standards and best practices to grow high performing teams
  • Identify and escalate barriers, dependencies and risks and collaborate with business stakeholders to mitigate the risks

Our expectations of the ideal candidate: 

  • Experience building data pipelines in production across various sources including hands-on experience integrating with third party software via API (eg. Azure Data Factory)
  • Hands-on experience in building data pipelines using Azure tools such as Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning
  • Ability to work across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • Experience in designing structured and non-structured databases data models
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL, cloud-native databases, including Azure Synapse DW and Azure Datamarts)
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and robust code in Python
  • Knowledge of software engineering concepts and best practice
  • Good understanding of data modelling techniques and cloud native architectural concepts governing the design of highly scalable and reliable data-driven applications using Azure cloud-based services and products
  • Cloud computing knowledge Microsoft Azure platform, architecture and tools (Azure App Service including Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage including Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Analytics Services, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure AI including Azure Cognitive Services and Azure Machine Learning Solutions and the Data Lake will utilize ML and AI capabilities, therefore some experience in this area would be beneficial.
  • Some experience with container orchestration and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic Cloud Kubernetes
  • Very strong command of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Experience working collaboratively and effectively in a team environment with technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders at all levels in an organization
