*instinctools is looking for a Middle+/Senior System Administrator for one of our clients.

Location: EU (remote)

Our client is a leading American multinational corporation specializing in wireless telecommunications products and services. The company is renowned for its development of semiconductors, software, and services related to wireless technology, including critical patents for mobile communication standards such as 5G and 4G.

Tasks:

Installation, configuration, and operation of KNIME-specific servers, data platforms, and applications (e.g., KNIME Business Hub, KNIME DAP, Discover Ecosystem, VerticaDB), (it’s a plus if you have experience with it);
Direct interaction with vendors, users, and application owners to enhance systems, resolve incidents, and ensure high availability;
Enhancement and improvement of system resilience, performance, and stability;
Support teams in setting up software infrastructure and integrating third-party applications;
Collaborate with software, ML, and data teams to align operational environments with analytical and production needs;
Continuous monitoring of servers, platforms, and applications to ensure optimal performance;
Performance analysis, updates, and upgrades of existing systems;
Proactive detection and resolution of issues impacting stability or performance;
Take ownership of incidents, ensuring timely analysis and resolution at 2nd and 3rd level support;
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to prevent recurrence and enhance system reliability.

Our expectations of the ideal candidate:

Need-to-Have skills:

3-5 years of experience;
Advanced Linux and Windows Server administration experience;
Strong database administration and optimization expertise (e.g., Vertica, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB);
Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm);

Nice-to-have skills:

Familiarity with data monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus);
Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS stack);
Experience with Python environments is beneficial (e.g., Conda, Venv);
Installation, configuration, and operation of KNIME-specific servers;
Upper-Intermediate English (written and spoken).

Effective and clear communication, including in distributed teams;
Collaborative, open to feedback, and focused on shared goals;
