*instinctools is looking for a Senior Golang Developer for one of our clients.

Location: EU, Poland, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Georgia

Client: is a global mobility and urban services platform that allows users to book rides or other services and negotiate the fare directly with the service provider. It offers a variety of services including ride-hailing, intercity travel, delivery, and task assistance, operating in over 700 cities across 47 countries and is the second most downloaded mobility app in the world.

Duration of cooperation: 4-6+ months

Responsibilities and tasks:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Golang, delivering scalable, high-performance, and reliable solutions
Design optimal database structures (SQL), manage indexes, and optimize query performance
Build and maintain asynchronous communication between services (e.g., Kafka)
Take end-to-end ownership of backend services, including development, deployment, monitoring, and production support
Set up observability for services (metrics, logging, alerts), respond to production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and participate in post-mortem processes
Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code; perform code reviews and follow architectural guidelines and engineering best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during planning and refinement sessions, validate requirements, and contribute to defining technical solutions
Proactively identify and implement improvements in system design, performance, and user experience

Our expectations of the ideal candidate:

7+ years of commercial backend engineering experience, including solving complex problems in high-load environments
5+ years of hands-on experience with Golang, including practical use of advanced features in production systems (generics, reflection, unsafe, custom synchronization primitives)
Strong SQL expertise, including schema design, scaling strategies (replication, partitioning, sharding), and query optimization for high-load environments
Deep understanding of Redis, including effective use of data structures and performance optimization in high-load systems
Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines; knowledge of Kubernetes (or similar orchestration tools) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
Solid experience with synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication patterns, with a focus on reliability and fault tolerance
Strong understanding of microservice architecture patterns and the ability to design efficient client-server interactions while accounting for system limitations
Experience in product-led environments and a proven track record of building and scaling high-load distributed systems
Proven ability to design and implement observability solutions, including metrics, logging, dashboards, and distributed tracing
Ability to write maintainable, testable code with solid unit/integration test coverage

Nice to have:

Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ)
Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi)
Experience with performance profiling/optimisation of Go services (pprof, trace)
Familiarity with design handoff tools (Figma) and cross-platform collaboration
Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to speed up coding/testing/code review

English: Intermediate

Stakeholder management – comfortable interacting with various stakeholders, from senior developers to product managers
