Senior/Lead Project Manager

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Own day-to-day execution across 5 teams (3–5 members each)
• Implement and enforce a single operating model (intake → prioritization → planning → delivery → validation)
• Drive delivery discipline and consistency across all teams
• Establish structure where none exists; replace inconsistent ways of working

Execution Ownership

• Run all core ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews) with strict discipline
• Enforce clear prioritization and capacity alignment across teams
• Track commitments vs actual delivery; expose gaps and enforce correction
• Reduce work in progress and prevent overcommitment

Backlog & Planning Control

• Restructure and standardize backlogs across all teams
• Enforce “definition of ready” before work enters execution
• Reject or rework unclear, unscoped, or low-priority items
• Ensure all work ties to defined priorities and outcomes

Cross-Team Coordination

• Own dependency mapping across teams, pipelines, and data assets
• Identify blockers early and drive resolution daily
• Force alignment where ownership or scope is unclear

Operating Model Installation

• Define and implement a single way of working across all teams
• Create templates, workflows, and standards; enforce adoption
• Eliminate redundant or ineffective processes
• Replace ad hoc coordination with structured execution

Transparency & Control

• Provide clear visibility into delivery status (committed vs delivered, blockers, risks)
• Establish and track execution metrics (cycle time, throughput, delivery variance)
• Escalate risks and delivery failures early and directly

AI-Enabled Execution

• Use AI tools (e.g., Cursor, ChatGPT, Copilot) to accelerate: backlog structuring ticket creation/refinement meeting summaries and action tracking dependency identification
• Apply AI pragmatically to reduce manual coordination overhead

Our expectations of the candidate: 

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager
• Proven experience running delivery across multiple teams in a data or platform environment
• Strong working knowledge of data pipelines and platforms (ingestion, transformation, modeling, and dependencies) sufficient to validate scope, enforce correct sequencing, and assess completeness of delivered data work
• Track record of stabilizing execution in immature or unstructured organizations
• Strong control of backlog management, sprint execution, and delivery tracking
• Experience enforcing operating models across teams (not just advising)
• Comfortable operating with authority and pushing back on product and engineering stakeholders
• Hands-on use of AI tools to improve execution speed and efficiency 
• English: Upper-Intermediate
