Our team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist for one of our clients.

Our client is a platform for rides, delivery, intercity trips, freight transportation, errands, and financial services

The project: The team is focused on developing and optimizing address search and geocoding services, ensuring users can efficiently find accurate and relevant locations. The project covers query understanding, geocoding, hybrid search, and improving the prediction accuracy for pickup and drop-off locations using advanced machine learning models.

Tasks:

ML system design from scratch with data analysis, annotation, and processing in several areas of research or in multimodal scenarios
Lead the process of data preparation and calculations with master systems at all stages
Translate business-level metrics to an engineering/science problem
Take ownership of the end-to-end DS product lifecycle, including ML model pipelines, implementation, A/B testing, and rollout
Develop innovative services designed to enhance the efficiency and precision of map issue resolution, and expand comprehensive coverage
Work with the Geo domain on different topics, e.g.
Search and relevance optimization for geocoding and place search, including personalization, user context and multilingual support
ETA and route accuracy optimization
Working with Engineering on Geo data curation, including data ingestion and pipelines, anomaly detection, deduplication and improving data reliability
Geospatial analysis and insights

Our expectations of the ideal candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Operations Research
5+ years of industry experience as an ML Engineer, Applied Scientist, Data Scientist, or equivalent
Proficient in MLOps tools for managing the ML model lifecycle
Familiar with technologies from the Company Tech Radar (e.g., Golang) to integrate with existing backend systems and infrastructure
Experienced with event systems, deployment environments, etc., to maintain DS-powered services in production
Proficient in Python and Python frameworks for streaming, batch, and asynchronous data processing
Proficient (or at least familiar) with the Geo and Maps ML domain
Subject-matter expert in more than one ML domain besides Geo (e.g., CV, NLP, etc.
Deep expertise in classic machine learning and deep learning techniques, with a strong understanding of advanced mathematics relevant to these fields
Experience with ML system design and MLOps practices for building, testing, deploying, and monitoring models in a production environment
Proven experience with event systems, deployment environments, and maintaining production services
Familiarity with technologies for streaming, batch, and async data processing. Proficiency in at least one specialized ML domain (e.g., NLP, Computer Vision, Tabular ML, Graph Neural Networks)
Strong understanding of software system design principles and the ability to contribute to architectural discussions
Experience in experimental design to validate hypotheses and measure the effectiveness of solutions
A solid grasp of security, risk, and control concepts in a production environment
English: Intermediate or higher

Soft skills:

Prefer problem solving style over experience
Ability to clarify requirements with the customer
Willingness to pair with other engineers when solving complex issues
Good communication skills
